a Process and a Product

Individual coaching sessions designed to help you work through your personal and professional challenges with the support of hand-drawn visuals.

When working with me, you experience all the benefits of a process-oriented conversation paired with a live visual capture of the big moments of our dialogue. The visual capture includes both text and images where appropriate, and constitutes a confidential document. I also invite my clients to pick up the pen for themselves as we work visually side by side. Have no fear. No drawing experience necessary.

WHAT COACHING IS

  • AN INVESTMENT in yourself as a human being who seeks to grow in self-awareness to benefit your personal and professional lives.
  • A CONTAINER in which brave inner work can take place in trust and confidence.
  • A FACILITATED CONVERSATION involving presence and deep listening in which we explore together the territory of the challenges you care to face and work through.
  • A PARTNERSHIP between you and me in which I act as a guide to help you find your own answers as a capable, creative, resourceful, and whole person.
  • A COURAGEOUS JOURNEY that you agree to undertake based on your own commitment to seek truth and walk a path that is aligned with your own values, purpose, and goals in life.

WHAT COACHING IS NOT

  • A QUICK “FIX” where the client expects the coach to problem-solve on their behalf and “save” them from the work of facing their own challenges. Your autonomy as an independent adult is recognized and respected, and so is your responsibility.
  • THERAPY – While it is possible that you’d experience benefits that feel therapeutic to you, I am not a trained therapist and coaching is not and does not replace therapy. This is an important distinction to keep in mind as we work together.
  • A PERFORMANCE where the goal is to pretend to know, to prove to be right, and practice avoidance. Rather, coaching is an exploratory practice aiming at accessing information that is helpful to the client. Some discomfort may come from that.

BENEFITS OF THE VISUAL PRODUCT

  • A MIRROR. The visual notes provide a mirror image of the conversation in which your words and their visual interpretation are reflected back to you. As a result, it provides additional clarity, and an expanded platform for immediate and further discussion.
  • SLOWING DOWN. The visual notes help us slow down in the process. It allows access to deeper reflection in the moment.
  • AN ANCHOR. After our session, the visual product gives you access to revisiting the information if desired, and provides an anchor for further private processing.
  • TRAVEL NOTES. As you progress through your coaching sessions the visuals will constitute a private library of your own personal process, documenting your journey along the way as travel notes would.
